How We Got Here
1971 Legendary trampoline pioneers Larry Griswold and George Nissen establish the USTA with roughly 200 charter members and a single competition division.
1980s–1990s Membership and meet participation accelerate; divisions expand to better match athletes’ skill levels.
2000 Nationals surpass 1,000 entrants for the first time, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity.
Today USTA hosts nine tumbling divisions and six trampoline & double‑mini divisions, with Nationals welcoming nearly 2,200 athletes across 5,000 individual events.
